A few people have asked where the music went now that the old weblogs.asp.net blog is no longer available (Amir got me to put this together). I used to post songs there for fun, so I’m putting them here for historical sake (and because it’s still fun to look back on). You’ll find the later studio tracks first, then some more cheesy demos from my 1980s recording studio days below. A couple of those are tape recordings off the radio from when Family of Friends actually got played on pop stations. Fun times!

Fair warning: some of these are more polished, some are rough demos, and a few should probably have stayed in a box. 😀 That said, here they are.

My personal favorites are No Shame in Crying, Reality, and Learning to Fall. But, I had the most fun making No More DLL Hell and Silverlight with my good friend Spike Xavier (he was in several touring bands). The highlight was Family of Friends since it made it on the radio in 1988. I was 17 years old at the time so it was pretty cool as a teenager to walk into a store and hear your song being played and being interviewed by disc jockeys (DJs) on the radio.

Music didn’t end up working out long-term and I traded in my electronic keyboards for my coding keyboards (which was a good move in hindsight), but I’ll never forget all the fun I had making these and other songs - even though some of them are cheesy as hell.

These next ones are from the actual recording studio days. Expect cheese, tape hiss, and at least one moment where you’ll wonder why I thought this was a good idea.
